“The Rose” 🌹

First recorded in 1979 by Bette Midler, and in 1983 by Conway Twitty, “The Rose” is probably one of (or is) my favorite lyrics of a song. The words and the meaning are so beautiful…and to add the music to it!! It gives me goosebumps and makes me tear up every time! You ever listen to a song and while you start singing along you get this feeling in the back of your throat and you have to stop because you can feel it in your heart? This song does that to me. If you haven’t already, you need to listen to it! Both artists versions are amazing. Let me know what you think! https://youtu.be/fhw7MjSMkAQ

Some say love, it is a river, that drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor, that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower, and you, its only seedIt’s the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance
It’s the dream afraid of waking, that never takes the chance
It’s the one who won’t be taken, who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to liveWhen the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed, that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes the roseSource: LyricFindSongwriters: Amanda McbroomThe Rose lyrics © Warner Chappell Music, Inc

I am your some what normal girl... but probably a little more weird and awkward as other normal girls...😁 I can’t explain the love of music and how important it is for me. It has got me through life so far!! I love so many genres, from oldies to rock, heavy metal and rap. I appreciate all music and the artists behind it.
